Position Title: Camp Assistant
Position Type: Seasonal, Part Time
Position Purpose: To assist Middlebury Studio School and Art Instructors with activities as needed and to help provide a welcoming, safe, and creative environment for children attending camp.
Compensation: $15/hour
Location: MSS Marbleworks, Middlebury VT

Position Tasks:

● Prepping/gathering supplies for projects
● Handing out supplies and setting up the studio
● Looking for campers who need more individualized attention and helping where needed
● Taking photos of campers doing art, with their projects, etc. for MSS promotional materials (where photo permissions from parents allow)
●  Cleaning in between projects and assigning ‘cleaning’ tasks to campers
●  Leading breaktime activities outside (snacks, games)
●  Assisting with studio reset at the end of each day
●  Monitoring camper safety-communicate anything to instructor for anything concerning, assist in ‘lining up’ and being in the back of the line when going outside/inside

Qualifications and Experience:

– Interest in working with children ages 6-12 required and previous experience preferred – Clear communication skills
– Interest in arts and creativity

Time Commitments:

June 16th-August 1, 20-32 hrs per week
The schedule is based on the MSS Summer programming needs, and working hours may be modified and work location may change between MSS clay and art studios. More opportunities to assist with other types of studio programs and classes are possible.
